What is Digital transcription?
Digital transcription typically uses an audio file instead of a tape. The recorded sound quality is superior to tapes and more reliable. The audio file may be recorded by using a digital dictating machine. This is similar to the old tape dictation machines except it produces an audio file instead. This audio file is uploaded to your computer using the software provided by the dictation machine supplier.

Why should I use digital audio rather than tape for dictation?
Digital transcription typically uses an audio file instead of a tape. The recorded sound quality is superior to tapes and more reliable. The audio file can be sent by email or by a secure upload facility where as tape would have to be sent by post or courier.

How do I send the audio files to you?
Audio files can be uploaded to Avonlea Services via our secure upload facilty on our Webpage.

Once you have transcriped my work, how do you send it back?
Once the work has been completed, it can be returned to you in several ways.
1) Electronically – by email ( not secure), via our upload / download system (secure)
2) By post – first class mail
3) By courier

Media returned can include CD, DVD, floppy disk, Hard copy (on our paper or your headed paper), memory stick, memory card etc.
