What is Digital transcription?

Digital transcription typically uses an audio file instead of a tape. The recorded sound quality is superior to tapes and more reliable. The audio file may be recorded by using a digital dictating machine. This is similar to the old tape dictation machines except it produces an audio file instead. This audio file is uploaded to your computer using the software provided by the dictation machine supplier.
